tonite was on the radio fm4 Vienna apparently it says
'Sister O and Jesse Darlin haunt Vienna; secret concerts, soft- and hardware, puppets, porn, and burying alive is on their schedule.'

Gods of the Plague is visually rich, dramatically understated, and completely engrossing; one of the best crime films I have seen. Also, Fassbinder considered it the fifth best picture he made. Not only does he pay homage to the tradition of film noir, he brings to it his unique perspective, even as he expands the themes, images... was just reminded of Life a users manual by Michelle teran and the character of Carla Aulaulu selling information and porn out of her wicker handbag...The long, long static shots. The long, long silences.
---Gods of the Plague
"In this shadowy world of snitches and constant surveillance, a pornographer named Carla (Carla Aulaulu) sells Joanna tidbits about Franz's activities.." misha

I no longer felt like making any move, but I also wanted to go away and never see them again. Not because I was lonely or bored, but I wanted proof that I could do it. The memory that i was once able to do it.
It's because my weary body was so heavy, that my mind started wandering so freely. I thought about the sea I had never seen.
My eyes were closed but I wasn't asleep yet. I tried to picture the sea and how i had heard it never ended.
I would have liked to contemplate something, as even and endless as my own weariness.
I fell asleep...

Those who find ecstasy do so not by visiting the shrines of civilization but by trudging in the swamps of human destitution and misery. Our literature of ecstasy recounts the dark nights of the soul and encounters with mystics in the slums and in the refugee camps of genocidal wars.
